Description
The Langley School – an independent, coed day school for students in preschool through eighth grade – strives to embrace the unique qualities of every child, every day through an engaging program of rigorous academics, fine arts, athletics, community service.
History
The Langley School first opened its doors as a cooperative nursery school in 1942. Langley’s first class was made up of just 19 children; today the school enrolls approximately 470 students in preschool through eighth grade.
Facilities
The Langley School is located on a 9.2-acre campus in McLean, VA. The school’s nine buildings include a 20,000-volume library, science and computer labs, a creative media studio featuring green screen technology, art studios, and a 23,350-square-foot athletic center. A soccer field, playgrounds, tricycle track, and wooded nature area offer students plenty of space for outdoor fun and learning.

Athletics
Langley is a founding member of the Capital Athletic Conference and offers competitive team sports in soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and softball for students in grades 5-8. Students can also participate in annual cross country and track and field meets.
Transportation
Round-trip or one-way bus service in several surrounding communities is available, including noon transportation for Primary School students.
After-School Child Care
Students age five and above may participate in Langley’s extended day program, Club E.D., from 3:00-6:00 p.m.
