After-School Programs
Langley ’s extensive after-school programs meet a wide variety of needs for our students and their families. Club Extended Day (Club E.D.), enrichment classes, JK Lunch Bunch, and vacation camp days are directed by our auxiliary programs staff.
Club E.D.
Club Extended Day, or “Club E.D.,” provides a safe and nurturing after-school environment for Langley students in grades K-8 to learn, grow, and try new activities. More than just a childcare service, the program encourages individuality, creativity, and cooperative behavior through diverse activities.
Club E.D. is available on days when school is in session. Specifically, Club E.D. is open from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on regular school days, from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. on select early dismissal days, and from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on the two days in the fall and spring when Lower and Middle School parent/teacher conferences are held. The program may be used on a full-time or more casual part-time basis.
Club E.D. students are given the freedom to choose the activities in which to participate and are encouraged to explore multiple activities each day. In addition to computer games, board games, and playground fun, children can join in planned activities that reflect and encourage their interests such as craft projects, cooking, an annual talent show, and seasonal celebrations.
A reading area filled with books and magazines helps students develop literary skills, brain teasers and board games help them hone math and analytical abilities, arts and crafts projects bring out students’ creative sides, and outdoor play and sports activities improve motor skills and coordination.
Enrichment Classes
Optional enrichment classes are offered each trimester – fall, winter, spring – to provide students with the opportunity to explore interests outside of the classroom. These after-school classes are taught by a combination of outside experts and Langley faculty members and meet for about an hour each week on a wide variety of subjects ranging from science, math games, and chess to art, dance, drama, and golf.
JK Lunch Bunch
Lunch Bunch is an optional program for Langley’s junior kindergarten students to extend their school day by one hour. JK-AM students stay after their school day and JK-PM students come in before their school day begins to enjoy lunch and indoor/outdoor play time.
Vacation Camp Days
Families may register their child(ren) to attend optional programs on non-school days that are designated as vacation camp days. Bowling, ice skating, and visiting local museums are examples of field trips students may take off campus, while painting clay, making chocolates, and playing fitness games are a few of the on-campus activities.
