Registration

Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Families may register for programs online by clicking here or completed paper forms may be mailed with the non-refundable deposit of $50 per class per week. We do not accept faxes of registration forms. Paper registration forms should be mailed with payment by check or credit card (Visa/MasterCard) to: The Langley School Summer Studio, 1411 Balls Hill Road, McLean, VA 22101.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The Langley School Summer Studio reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrollment. A full refund will be granted if a class is cancelled. Any cancellations will be announced by June 1, 2008.

Deposits are non-refundable. Refunds are not granted for withdrawals after May 1. Parents must inform the Summer Studio Office in writing if they are withdrawing their child from any program. Full refunds are granted if a program is full. There are no refunds for absences; there is no provision for make-up classes. No refund will be granted in the event of dismissal for inappropriate or unsafe conduct.

Deposit and Payment

A non-refundable deposit of $50 per class per week must accompany the registration form. The deposit is per class per week and not a flat fee per child. The deposit amount is deducted from the total tuition due. Full payment is due on or before May 1, 2008. If final payment is not received by May 1, the space will be forfeited and given to the next person on the waiting list. If you register after May 1, 2008, full payment is due at the time of registration. A fee of $25 will be charged for any check we are unable to deposit, or not honored by your bank.

Fourth of July Holiday

The Langley School Summer Studio is closed June 30 – July 4, 2008, due to the Fourth of July holiday on Friday.

After You Register

Following receipt of registration, you will receive a confirmation of classes for which you have registered, an immunization form, and a statement, including balance due by May 1. During the week of June 9-13, staff will be available during designated times to accept outstanding immunization forms, accept life-threatening emergency medication, complete the proof of identification process, and give tours of campus.

Proof of Identity

Staff will be available in the foyer of the Betty Brown Lower School building on the following dates to receive immunization/health forms and to review proof of identification documents:
Monday, May 19, 12:30-2:30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 20, 8:30-10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, May 21, 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 22, 4:00-5:30 p.m.

In accordance with the Commonwealth of Virginia childcare center licensing requirements, parents must present one of the following: a certified copy of a birth certificate; birth registration card; notification of birth; passport; copy of the placement agreement or other proof of child agency; record or report card from a public school in Virginia; or certification by a principal, or his/her designee, of a public school in the United States that a certified copy of the child’s record was presented. This information must be provided before the first day of Summer Studio classes.

Conduct

The Langley School Summer Studio adheres to Langley’s conduct and discipline policies and expects students to comply with generally accepted standards of behavior. No refund will be granted in the event of a dismissal for inappropriate or unsafe conduct.

Summer Studio T-shirts

Each student will receive one Summer Studio t-shirt. Shirts will be distributed at the beginning of each week.

Policy on Reporting Suspected Child Abuse or Neglect

Policy on Reporting Child Abuse or Neglect By law, educators are mandated to report any suspected child abuse or neglect to Child Protective Services for further investigation. Langley adheres to this policy.
