A favorite Langley tradition, the annual auction has raised significant funds over the years to help provide academic excellence and exceptional educational opportunities for Langley students and faculty. Langley’s 2017 auction will be held on Saturday, April 22 at the Hyatt Regency Tysons in McLean. All parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the school are invited to enjoy an evening of merriment, camaraderie, and fundraising in support of Langley.
Why does Langley have an annual auction?
Funds raised from the spring auction are an essential part of Langley’s operating budget each school year, contributing to a wide range of educational priorities. These funds play a significant role in enabling Langley to continue to be a leader in academic excellence, providing the highest quality educational environment.
Students and faculty reap the benefits of proceeds from the auction through enhanced diversity through financial aid, professional development for faculty, and additional curricular programs and activities. Professional development is vital to attracting and retaining top-notch faculty. It provides Langley teachers with ongoing learning opportunities which nurture their intellectual life and allow for exploration of new ideas and best practices in teaching. The knowledge, energy, and ideas gained by faculty are brought back to the classroom and have an immediate impact on our students’ experience.
