The Langley School, a PS-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks a Teaching Fellow for the 2025-2026 school year.

Grounded in a deep respect for childhood, The Langley School offers a warm, welcoming community and an exceptional academic program that uniquely combines inquiry-based and social-emotional learning for preschool through eighth-grade students. Langley attracts and retains talented faculty who support the whole child, are excited to be leaders in teaching and learning, and enjoy working in a diverse, highly collaborative setting. Teachers at Langley are committed to each student's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical growth and foster a nurturing, engaging learning environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

The Langley School Teaching Fellowship Program prepares beginning educators to teach in the independent school setting. The two-year program includes valuable classroom, school, and professional development opportunities. For the current opening, we are seeking candidates who are primarily interested in teaching in lower school grades (first through fourth). The fellowship is a paid position with a competitive salary, excellent benefits, robust professional development opportunities, an on-site childcare program, and tuition remission.

Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is required, as well as two to three years of previous experience working with children, excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort with technology, interest in collaborating with colleagues, and a passion for working with children.
