Primary School
Welcome from Division Head Anna Shiroma
I’m delighted to introduce you to Langley’s Primary School, which encompasses our preschool, junior kindergarten, and kindergarten programs. We’ve carefully created a safe, nurturing, and empowering learning environment for children ages 3 to 6. Together, our youngest students solve developmentally appropriate problems, practice mutual respect, learn important routines and work habits, and build confidence as they discover and share the world around them.
Guided by caring teachers with deep expertise in early childhood development, children take risks and tackle challenges at their own pace, building foundational skills in math, science, reading, writing, art, and physical education. Gaining independence, resilience, and academic prowess through their early years at Langley, Primary Schoolers emerge fully ready for the next step in their educational journey.
Our flexible Primary School program ranges from four to 10 hours per day, so you can provide your child with a nurturing, academically focused environment in the way that best suits your family’s needs.
I invite you to review the special features of our program below and to think about what learning looks like when childhood is truly honored.

Our Program
To ensure your child’s mind, body, and character all grow stronger together, our Primary School program meets children where they are and intentionally guides them forward. From day one, children grow in ability, curiosity, perception, self-regulation, and physical confidence. Two teachers in every classroom – an expert head teacher and an experienced co-teacher – provide students with extensive individual attention and small-group instruction. Reading and math specialists also work closely with kindergarten teachers and students to build these critical skills.
Our youngest students solve developmentally appropriate problems, practice mutual respect, learn important routines and work habits, and build confidence as they discover and share the world around them.
