Athletics
Building resilience, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits
We believe athletics are an integral part of the overall education and development of each child, and our athletic program reinforces the goals of the school’s mission while helping students build character through competitive athletics.
Langley is a founding member of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) which comprises several K-8 independent schools in Maryland, Virginia, and the District. Students in grades 5-8 may participate in Langley’s after-school interscholastic team sports program which includes soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, softball, lacrosse, track and field, and tennis.
When possible, we offer two levels of competition (varsity and JV) for each league sport. To ensure an age-appropriate and safe level of competition in certain sports, Langley offers intramural Fifth-Grade Fridays which provide age-appropriate skill development to prepare our fifth-graders for competition in Middle School.
