Celebrating our community through joyful events
The Langley School believes in the power of community and prides ourselves on our commitment to creating a place where everyone belongs. This is experienced in a variety of ways, including field trips, assemblies, and every day within the classroom. Throughout the year, the school organizes several large-scale events – which are supported by dedicated parent volunteers – that bring our community together and provide support for our ongoing programs.
More than 1,000 students, parents, faculty/staff, and alumni attend this annual campus event each fall, featuring food, fun, and games. One of the school’s oldest traditions, the fair was first held in the spring of 1954 to raise funds for a new school building. Although the fair is no longer a fundraiser, it is a much-loved community building event.
Langley’s annual Book Fair – which is held both in person and online – benefits the school's Pat Bush Library and features a wide selection of books for purchase for all ages and interests.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
Another beloved Langley tradition, this event welcomes hundreds of grandparents and special friends to campus for a morning of student performances and time in the classroom. Students love sharing their Langley experience with their guests!
Each February, we host a STEAM Fair to celebrate the school's interdisciplinary, inquiry-based approach to learning and discovery through science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
Leopardy Quiz Night
Langley parents, faculty, and staff test their trivia prowess during this popular, fast-paced quiz night to support the school. This adults-only evening includes fun, themed dinner tables and healthy team-based competition.
The annual spring auction is Langley’s largest fundraising event of the year, bringing together current and alumni families, faculty, and staff to celebrate the positive impact Langley teachers have on every child, every day. Proceeds from this “party with a purpose” have a direct and immediate impact on the school’s ability to maintain an exceptional, diverse, and competitively compensated faculty and provide an outstanding educational experience for our students.
Langley’s Athletic Department coordinates this much-loved, end-of-school tradition for Lower and Middle School students which includes a series of activity stations that promote outdoor fun and collaboration.
