The Langley School's Grandparents & Special Friends Day is a beloved annual tradition which typically attracts more than 300 guests. This year's event will take place on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. This very happy day is designed for students to share special time together in class with their grandparent(s) or a special friend. There are two distinct and separate arrival and dismissal times for guests depending on the specific grade/division being visited.
Guests Visiting Primary School Students (Preschool, Jr. Kindergarten, Kindergarten)
Guests visiting students in the Primary School should arrive on campus for registration and light breakfast fare in the Sherman Café between 7:30 and 8:15 a.m. A welcome program for guests of Primary School students will begin in the auditorium at 8:15 a.m. After the program, guests will become "students" when they join their grandchild or special friend in the classroom beginning at 8:45 a.m. Primary School class visits will conclude at 9:45 a.m.
If a guest is also visiting a Lower or Middle School student, he/she should return to the Sherman Auditorium for the 9:30 a.m. program of student performances (grades 1-8). Visits to the Lower and Middle School classrooms follow the performances from 10:15 – 11:30 a.m.
Guests Visiting Lower & Middle School Students (Grades 1-8)
Guests visiting only children in the Lower and/or Middle School should plan to arrive between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. for registration and light breakfast fare in the Sherman Café. A welcome program in the auditorium at 9:30 a.m. will feature performances by students in grades 1-8. Following the welcome program, guests will be escorted to the classroom for an inside peek at life at Langley. Guests are free to come and go as they wish in order to spend time with each of their students. Lower and Middle School class visits will take place from 10:15 – 11:30 a.m.
