Eighth-graders took part in a week-long geo-political simulation called the World Peace Game, giving them the opportunity to explore the connectedness of the global community through the lens of economic, social, and environmental crises and the imminent threat of war. Organized into nation teams, students attempted to extricate each country from dangerous circumstances and achieve global prosperity with the least amount of military intervention. The game developed students' critical and creative problem-solving, leadership, decision-making, and negotiation skills, while also honing their collaboration and communication skills for resolving and transforming conflicts.
