Students do an erosion experiment

As they study erosion in STEAM class, second-graders are looking at ways that erosion impacts people in different environments. They brainstormed ways to slow erosion down and learned about the erosion solutions that are currently available, like planting more trees and shrubs and using retaining walls and landscape fabric. The class conducted an experiment with models of erosion prevention to see what held the soil in place the best.
