The Langley School News
Congratulations to the 43 members of the Class of 2023 who graduated from Langley on June 9 during a lovely ceremony. We wish our graduates a fond farewell as they move on to the next stage of their educational journey!
For their end-of-year trip, eighth-graders enjoyed three days of activities in New York City, including visits to Times Square, the 9/11 Memorial, the National Museum of Mathematics, the U.S.S. Intrepid, the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, Little Italy, and a Broadway performance of "Wicked."
Our first- and second-graders wowed us with their end-of-year musical performance, "Magical Musical World Tour." Students presented songs and dances from different continents, countries, and cultures around the world, many of which supported their classroom, world language, and art studies.
Fifth-graders celebrated the second annual Greek Games Day on May 31. Incorporating what they learned in their ancient Greece unit, they participated in some Olympic events such as chariot racing and relay races, created Greek letter art, and performed plays based on Aesop's fables. They also enjoyed a wonderful spread of Greek food and experienced wearing traditional togas.
Fourth-graders are exploring the key role that water plays in communities around the world as they deepen their understanding across subject areas.
