Athletics
Building resilience, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits
We believe athletics are an integral part of the overall education and development of each child, and our athletic program reinforces the goals of the school’s mission while helping students build character through competitive athletics.
Langley is a founding member of the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) which comprises several K-8 independent schools in Maryland, Virginia, and the District. Students in grades 5-8 may participate in Langley’s after-school interscholastic team sports program which includes soccer, volleyball, cross country, basketball, softball, lacrosse, track and field, and tennis.
When possible, we offer two levels of competition based on grade level, with grades 7 and 8 competing on the varsity level and grades 5 and 6 on the junior varsity level. For certain sports, Langley offers only one level open to grades 6-8 to ensure age-appropriate and safe competition.
