Langley Spark

Empowering curious, confident, resilient leaders, thinkers, and creators

At The Langley School, we develop students who thrive at every stage of learning and life. Our exemplary inquiry-based and social-emotional learning model engages students as critical thinkers, problem solvers, leaders, and culturally responsive community members, and our impact is evident in the unique accomplishments and meaningful contributions of our students and graduates.

Langley Spark is Langley's new career exploration initiative

Through classroom events throughout the year and our inaugural Spark career event for grades 7 and 8 taking place February 6, 2026, Langley students will connect with Langley alumni and parents to learn how interests and experiences develop into career paths. They'll explore occupations with which they are already familiar while being introduced to fields that are new to them, and they'll see how the lessons they're learning right here at Langley can spark the interests and opportunities they might choose to pursue in the future.

Light a Spark!

Will Denton '17 was recently on campus to share his invention with Langley fifth-graders, showing them how their design and engineering classes can eventually take them from curiosity to a career. Will is currently pursuing his master's degree in engineering at Duke University.

If you are interested in participating in Langley Spark programming, igniting career interest and enthusiasm in our students, please fill out the form below. We are eager to welcome participants from a wide range of professional fields and look forward to creating networking opportunities for all involved. Local and non-local participants are encouraged to volunteer; programming will be both in-person and virtual all year long, including on February 6, 2026.

Share Your Career Experiences with Langley Students

The Langley School is hosting our inaugural career celebration, called "Langley Spark," during the 2025-2026 school year. Through a career event on February 6, 2026, and classroom presentations throughout the year, Langley invites alumni, current and alumni parents, and broader community members to share stories of their "spark" and their professional career experiences with our current students. If you would like to share your career journey with Langley students either in person or online, please let us know by filling out this form.
